Padel Courts: from measurements to costs!

Table of Contents

Padel is expanding like wildfire all over the world and you have to know that padel courts are very different, and as visible or not there are many differences between existing models; today we give you an overview of padel courts ranging from sizes to costs!

Measures

Starting with measurements, for a padel court the playing area has dimensions of 10 meters in width and 20 meters in length with a tolerance of 0.5 percent, the height of the walls is 3 meters while the fence is 4 meters .

Obviously due to the structure of the court these measurements may increase (e.g.encumbrance of lights), also there is a spacing of the courts: 1.5 meters around the court for national federation rules but for the official FITP rules there is instead a safety area for outdoor play of 2 meters wide and 8 meters long outside the field entrance area (These 2 meters then apply to the entire court contour). It is in fact necessary for more experienced players who make x3 and for their opponents who can retrieve the ball outside the court.

If you want to put several court next to each other the distance of one will also apply to the field next to it, so summarizing everything in an example if we wanted to make 3 fields in parallel for width we would need:

(10m width + 1.5m max. structure + 2m safety space) x 3 + 2m = 40.5m

Considering 2m of safety and the structure also on the length the total area needed will be: 40.5 x 24.6 = 996.3 sq. m.

Full Panoramic Padel Court

It is the top-of-the-line model in the market and the official FITP court for official competitions such as the upcoming BNL Italy Major Premier Padel 2023. It has a very thin structure, and load-bearing structures are absent on the back crystal. Made to provide better visibility for spectators this model is obviously one of the most expensive with a price tag of around 25,000 euros but the one that provides the best eye appeal and the highest performance.

Here you can take a look to every detail of the Full Panoramic Model.

Padel Court

Panoramic Padel Court

It is one of the most popular on the market because it represents the perfect compromise between budget, design and performance. This model also features the crystal area without support elements so as to ensure better visibility but compared to the Full Panoramic they add to the angle of the field for greater customization. It is priced around 22,500 euros, and although it is a less slender structure than the Full Panoramic, it still manages to provide a major eye-catcher.

Padel court

Padel V-Pro Court

It is the entry level model for low budgets, has very simplified installation and optimized maintenance. Despite this, the finishes of the V-Pro MejorSet are of high quality and provide a high degree of solidity to the field, thanks in part to the supports in the crystal area. The price of the V-Pro is on 20,500 euros , a competitive price that allows you to enter the world of padel with a classic but high quality and high finish court that perfectly meets the specifications of the FITP.

Padel Court

X-Treme CourtDesigned for the US

The X-Treme padel court has been designed to provide maximum visibility, aesthetic design and resistance to strong and tropical winds, as well as hurricanes. This court resists gusts of up to 265km/h or 165mp/h., certified by American and European organisms. With special anticorrosive primer and Magnelis steel reinforcements, this court is suitable for the United States, as well as Central American countries such as Mexico or Oceania such as Australia.

Glass and Turf

For each field we are talking about 12 mm glass (even 10 in the case of the V-Pro), which must be tempered and meet the UNI EN 12150-1 standard in order to withstand the stress they undergo.

The turf is then available for all models in the monofilament version, durable, stable and safe, from 12 mm, available in the only 4 colors accepted by the international federation (Blue, Green, Earth and Purple) but also in the 10mm textured version, the same one used in official tournaments, the turf that through texturing improves players’ traction by increasing safety and performance.

We already know that the next time you walk into a court you will already know how to spot the differences or, we hope for you, this guide will have helped you figure out which court you want in your padel center!
